After the black paint job the tracks were oversprayed using Vallejo track primer (304) followed by a wash of burnt umber and a very light wash of rust. Finally a light coat of powdered graphic was applied to highlight those areas where the tracks come in contact with the ground.  Using silver paint tends to overpower the tracks while graphic powder provides a nice subtle metalic touch,

.The next layer of finishing will be dark washes that will bring out the details of the vehicle. In order to easily apply the washes the model must be sealed. This has been accomplished uses an acrylic semi gloss clear application. Not readily apparent from the pictures the SU-85 has a distinctly gloss finish. However this will be gone by the time the tank destroyer is finished.
